Mission
Our mission is rooted in a powerful truth: every child deserves a safe place to call home. Through advocacy, public awareness, and action-oriented programs, we work to improve the lives of foster youth by pushing for meaningful legislation that secures safe and stable housing, access to education, and critical medical and mental health services.
The foster care system is meant to protect our most vulnerable—but instead, countless children are falling through the cracks. Shuffled between hotel rooms, cars, temporary shelters, and even tents, these youth face overwhelming instability. Tragically, this chaos creates a pipeline to exploitation. With trafficking on the rise in foster care, SUN is committed to changing that reality—because no child should be lost, forgotten, or invisible.
SUN continues to advocate for stronger federal and state accountability, more resources for foster families, and systems that put children's welfare first. We are fighting for those who have no voice—and we won’t stop until every child is seen, heard, and safe.
